Back pain is now one of the most common conditions treated by the medical profession. Learn Yoga Therapy techniques to care for your spine, from your neck to your tailbone. This workshop will touch on the anatomy of the spine and the muscles and tissues that can become imbalanced and overstressed causing back pain. I will teach a sequence of poses that will bring relief to the most common back conditions and address common postural issues.
**This group workshop may not be suitable for students in acute pain, or who cannot get up and down off the floor. Best to see you in a private.
This workshop is designed for students with Scoliosis(a lateral curvature(s) of the spine) and for Yoga Teachers who want to learn about scoliosis and how to adjust for the curvature in yoga poses. We will assess your spine’s curvature, map the curve, then apply what we learned to classic yoga poses adjusted for your specific curve pattern.
Yoga poses offer relief with the use of traction, props, and relaxation to alleviate pain and discomfort. The focus of this workshop is on lengthening the spine, de-rotation of the curve, and reducing compensatory patterns standing, sitting, and lying down. Deepening the breath will be a major component during the session.
All levels are welcome, from newbie to teacher.
